Who Are We?

Mighty Colour Films is a collective of three filmmakers and friends specialising in short films, documentaries and music videos. They formed during a snowy and cinematic January in 2013 to make their first short film. Since then their films have had Vimeo Staff Picks, Official Selection at national and international film festivals and picked up various awards.

At the heart of Mighty Colour is a genuine interest in collaboration with Sam, Adam and Sam taking it in turns to write, direct and support each others visions. This results in diverse and innovative film making. Watch the back catalogue and you'll see for yourself the exploration and entertainment at play here.

Sam loves to act, that is his passion. However, since moving to London his thirst has grown beyond acting. He now writes and directs, anything from successful short films to sketches to songs. He is a natural born comedian who has began to flex his creative muscles and show his versatility, whilst still remaining hilarious!

Adam is a natural cinematographer and editor. He translates environments onto the screen with style and is able to spontaneously shoot as well as storyboard. Adam has worked in a professional capacity for 10 years within TV and film. He has more recently turned his hand to writing and directing and has shown the same aptitude and skill for this part of the creative process.

In 2013 Sam's love for film saw him write, direct and star in his first short "Mighty Milk" which also saw "Mighty Colour Films" born. Since then he has never looked back pushing himself as a filmmaker and music video creator. Sam is multi-interested and this scope of work leads to innovative inter- disciplinary films. Alongside film making Sam is in the psych pop/rock band Goan Dogs and contemporary theatre company Massive Owl.

2018 is going to be an exciting year for the three of us, individually and as a film making collective.

We are currently developing a number of film projects, including our first scripting collaboration between Sam Kynan Powell and Adam Stocker. Some projects are large scale and ambitious in terms of location and storytelling, others are shorter and more experimental but all projects are about moving forward and making each film better than our last.

Sam South has said "I'm definitely making three films this year".
